Dress Code
The Machine wants you to look nice. You must conform to the visual standards of The Machine.
The code of dress is set in stone, the undoing of thousands of years of evolution. Our ancestors hunted the lands clad only in animal skins, wearing the small amounts of clothing they did only for purposes of protection or comfort.
Nobody ever hunted for deer in a necktie.
But The Machine demands a uniform. No bright colors. Don’t do anything that would cause you to stand out in the eyes of The Machine. You are part of the greater purpose, a team clad in buttondown stormtrooper uniforms.
And if you’re good, once a week, the Machine will let you dress casually, because comfort must be purchased with servitude. Your reward is a uniform you would never wear in a casual setting in a million years, and a different tie.
Because The Machine’s definition of casual is different than yours.
